FIRST MEETING
The very first scheduled cyberspace Finnegans Wake discussion
ended in a virtual disaster. It was to be held in a coffee shop
a few doors down from the entrance to PMC-MOO. But, just as the
meeting was getting started, a shut-down of the largest MOO,
Lambda-MOO, caused a flood of refugees to pour onto PMC-MOO and
the coffee shop, usually all but deserted, soon filled up with a
large gregarious group of somewhat confused and bemused MOO
users. The resulting cacophony of greetings disaster-stories and
heterogenous chatter made any organized discussion virtually
impossible and the meeting had to be postponed. This disaster
along with the frequent lag-time
caused me to search out a quieter MOO. The relative
seriousness that prevailed at DU-MOO seemed to promise less
chaotic meetings.
